Long,long ago,the moon was home to a glorious kingdom which surrounded the whole universe.All who lived on the moon were graced with eternal life.The kingdom was ruled by Queen Serenity,a peaceful and kind ruler.All of the planets were at peace.This era was known as the Silver Millennium.
The Queen had a daughter also named Serenity or Serena. Her court pertained of the princesses from the planets surrounding them:Mars,Mercury,Venus,Jupiter,Pluto,Uranus,Saturn and Neptune.Destined to be her guardians,they had to transform into a sailor suited warrior (ess!) and assimilate the powers of the planets they represented.
The princsee then started to visit Earth. Wanting more every time,she'd fallen in love with the tall,green trees,the beautiful oceans and the crowned prince Endymion.
Little did they know,the peace in thier kingdom would soon be disturbed.An evil queen Beryl, let her havoc loose on earth.By brainwashing the earthlings into believing that they wanted the moon goddess' eternal life,she used them as her army.Her four genereals were: Zoicite,Jedite,Nephlyte,and Malachite.Through Metallia's energy,Beryl wanted to rule the earth and the moon.
Endymion escaped Beryl's wrath in order to warn the princess.at the time,the people of the moon thought that the earthlings were untrustworthy and inferior.He told Serena that even though thier love could never be,he would still stay by her side and protect her.After one last kiss, she gave him a star locket as a token of thier love.
Berly attacked,leaving behind a path of destruction.She used the power of the "invincible shadow", a creature formed when the 7 evils were brought together.the Queen's forces could not hold,the sailor guardians and the army thied to save thier kingdom and died.
One day, Keiichi, a student at Nekomi Institute of Technology (or NIT) was in his dorm because his sempai told him to wait for a phone call. While waiting, he got hungry, so Keiichi called out for some food. He dialed the wrong number and got the "Goddess Helpers" office instead. A young cute goddess named Belldandy appear out of the mirror and said "Our job is to help people who are in trouble, like you. I can grant you one wish, no matter what it is...". Keiichi said "I want you to stay for- ever". The wish was approved. Unfortunately, Keiichi lives in a men-only dorm, so he got thrown out when his sempai returned. Keiichi's friends didn't let him in either, so he and Belldandy finally settled in an old temple...
The show develops from this point, introducing more characters and generally being a very sweet and romantic, and often funny, anime.

| Keiichi is the rather short, shy, yet kind NIT student who accidentally ends up living with Belldandy. He's got wild, dark hair, brown eyes and is 158 cm tall. He's 21 years old and the star driver of NIT's Motor Cycle Club (NIT MCC). |

Belldandy

| She is the first of the RGO [Relief Goddess Office] goddesses that we are introduced to. She is very pretty, with golden/light brown hair and triangular markings underneath her kind, blue eyes. Her forehead bears one of the characteristic goddess marks. Belldandy's domain is The Present and she uses the mirror as a link between our world and Heaven. In terms of earth years, she's about 21 years old. Belldandy is 165 cm tall. Her vital measurements are B 83 cm, W 57 cm and H 84 cm. She is classified as a First Class goddess, Second Category, Unlimited. Belldandy is very fond of Darjeeling tea, as well as the "Prince Of Wales" chocolate brand. |

Skuld

| Skuld is the youngest of the three goddesses, about 12 years old. Skuld has black hair, brown eyes and she's 150 cm tall. Her domain is The Future and she's a Second Class goddess. |

Urd

| Urd is Belldandy's older sister, and she's a Second Class goddess. She is lightly darkskinned, with flowing and slightly curled white hair. Her domain is The Past, and she acts as Cupid as well as running the computer system Yggdrasil back in Heaven. |
